An after dinner walk to Hut Point and more Ob Hill pictures

The weather was bright and warm Monday. The sun is now rising around 8am and setting around 5:30pm. After dinner I walked to Hut Point to view the sunset. It was beautiful. There were also several seals laying on the ice pier. Two friends walked up so I was able to get in a few pictures. One of them had brought beer so the three of us enjoyed a magical Antarctic sunset while drinking ice cold Fat Tire beer. It was brutal but we got it down!

The memorial cross for George T. Vince a crew member of Captain Scott's Discovery Expedition. He fell and disappeared from this site in 1902. There are a lot of memorials/crosses around here.

Don't step back. If the fall doesn't kill you, breaking through the ice will take your breath away.

Cape Crozier.

Nothing like an ice cold beer when it is ice cold outside. I believe this is "the pause that refreshes!"

I have also added three more pictures from last week's hike up Observation Hill for the 100th anniversary of Captain Scott's death.
I did not take these pictures.
